The short version: your files never reach us, because they are processed on your device.

Last updated 4 August 2026

Your files

Files you open in a ToolsVerse tool are read into your browser’s memory and processed there. The file bytes are not transmitted to us, are not stored by us, and are not accessible to us at any point. There is no upload to intercept and no server-side copy to delete.

You do not have to take this on trust. Open your browser’s developer tools, select the Network tab, and use any tool on the site. No request carrying your file will appear.

A small number of operations can exceed what a browser is able to hold in memory. Where that happens you are told explicitly and asked before anything is sent. If you decline, nothing is transmitted and the operation stops. Consent is never assumed and is never bundled into another action.

What we do collect

We collect aggregate usage measurements so we can tell which tools are worth building and where they fail. These are recorded as buckets rather than exact values — a file is recorded as “1–5 MB”, never as its precise size, because an exact byte count is a fingerprinting signal.

  • Which tool was used, and whether the operation succeeded or failed.
  • Bucketed file size and bucketed duration.
  • Coarse device capability — whether the browser supports the features a tool needs.
  • Standard request metadata your browser sends to any website: IP address, user agent, and referring page.

What we never collect

We do not collect the contents of your files, their names, or any data extracted from them. We do not build advertising profiles from your usage. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not operate a cross-context behavioural advertising programme.

Advertising

The site is funded by advertising, which is what allows the tools to be free without a sign-up or a quota. Ad slots appear below the tools and never inside a tool workspace or a result panel.

Advertising partners may set cookies and process data under their own policies. In the EU, the UK and other regions requiring it, no advertising script runs until you have given consent through the consent banner. Declining is a supported outcome: the tools work identically either way.

The specific advertising and consent-management providers are being selected and will be named here before any advertising script is enabled on the site.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage for preferences you set, such as your theme, and for recording your consent choice so you are not asked repeatedly. These are not used for tracking. See the cookie policy for the full list.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Under the CCPA you have the right to know what is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of sale or sharing — noting that we do neither.

Because we do not hold your files and do not operate accounts, there is generally very little personal data to act on. Requests can be made through the contact page and are answered within 30 days.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
