About these tools

Money calculations go wrong in predictable ways: a monthly payment quoted without the schedule behind it, a projection that looks like a promise, a fee calculator with someone else’s rates baked in. These are built to avoid those.

The loan and mortgage tools show the whole amortisation schedule, not just the payment, because the split between interest and principal over time is the part that explains where the money goes and what an overpayment is worth. The savings and investment tools are projections from the rate you supply — they model your assumptions and they do not forecast returns.

The fee calculators take the percentage and fixed fee from you rather than hard-coding a rate. Processor pricing differs by country, card type and account, and a figure baked in today is wrong somewhere else and wrong here next year.

None of this is financial advice. It is arithmetic applied to numbers you enter, and it does not know your tax position or what a lender will actually offer.
