Video editing usually means installing something, and for a thirty-second job that is a poor trade. These tools cover the small edits that come up around screen recordings and phone footage: cutting a clip down, muting it, changing the speed, looping it, and taking a single frame out as an image.

Processing video in a browser tab is slower than a native application would be. The reason to accept that is what it avoids — screen recordings and phone video frequently contain things you would not want on someone else’s server, and here the file is read from your disk into the page and never uploaded.

The practical limit is memory rather than file size policy. A long recording that works on a laptop may run out of room on a phone, and the tool says so rather than failing silently part way through.
