About Budget Planner
Income set against categorised spending, producing the monthly surplus or shortfall. Most budgets fail not through arithmetic but through omission — the annual bills nobody divides by twelve — so the categories are the useful part. Free online, with no account and nothing stored. Your income and outgoings are totalled in the page alone.
How to use it

- List spending by categoryInclude the irregular ones divided into monthly terms: insurance, subscriptions, car servicing, presents.
- Switch between monthly and yearlySome costs only look significant annually. A daily coffee is trivial per day and a holiday per year.

The annual bills are what break a budget
Monthly costs are easy to remember because they arrive monthly. Insurance renewals, car servicing, professional subscriptions, birthdays and Christmas arrive once and are forgotten the other eleven months, then land as a surprise. Dividing each by twelve and carrying it as a monthly line is the single change that makes most budgets start matching reality.
What it does not do
- It reflects what you enter, and the omissions are what make budgets wrong. Work from statements rather than memory.
- Irregular and seasonal spending needs dividing across the year by you; nothing here spots that it is missing.
- A plan is not a forecast. It shows what happens if the month goes as described.

- Why does my real spending exceed my budget every month?
- Nearly always unlisted irregular costs rather than overspending on the listed ones. Go through three months of statements and add every category you find; the gap usually turns out to have a name.
- Is my financial data sent anywhere?
- No. The figures are worked out in the page and nothing is transmitted. The CSV export is produced by your browser and saved to your device.
