About QR Code Generator
A QR code for a link, some text or contact details, downloadable as PNG or SVG. The choice that matters most is the format: printed codes should be vector, because a scaled-up bitmap is a code that fails to scan. Generating a code is free and online, and the image is delivered unmarked: no watermark, no account. Nothing you encode is uploaded.

Error correction is not a setting to max out
The four levels allow recovery from roughly 7%, 15%, 25% and 30% damage, and each step adds redundancy that makes the pattern denser. A denser code needs to be printed larger or scanned closer. For a sticker on a wet surface the highest level is right; for a URL in a slide deck the lowest is fine and scans from further away.
What it does not do
- Longer content means a denser code. A very long URL produces something that needs to be printed large or scanned from close up — shorten the link first.
- A QR code is opaque to the person scanning it. They cannot see where it leads before following it, which is why they are an effective phishing vector and why the destination should be a domain people recognise.
- Printed codes need quiet space around them and adequate contrast. A code printed edge-to-edge or in low contrast will not scan.
Questions people ask
- Should I use PNG or SVG?
- SVG for anything printed or resized, because it stays sharp at any scale. PNG is fine at a fixed size on screen. Enlarging a small PNG softens the module edges, and soft edges are what defeat a scanner.
- Do these codes expire?
- No. The code encodes your content directly and will decode to it forever. What can break is the destination — if the URL stops working, so does the code, which is an argument for pointing at a link you control.
