A small category covering two recurring problems. The first is URL encoding, which goes wrong because there is no single correct answer: encoding a whole URL, one query parameter, and a form field each escape a different set of characters, and using the wrong mode produces a link that looks right and breaks.

The second is knowing what your browser is telling everyone. The browser info page shows the user agent, platform, screen, language, time zone and feature support that any site can read without asking permission — which is a useful thing to see once, both for debugging and for understanding what "anonymous browsing" does and does not mean.
