About these tools
These tools check the things that are easy to get wrong and hard to notice: a sitemap with a malformed date that gets rejected wholesale, a robots rule that quietly removes a section from search, a share card that renders without an image because one tag is missing.
They are diagnostic rather than predictive. A validator tells you a file is well formed; it cannot tell you a page will rank, and no honest tool can. What they are good for is removing the failures that stop a page from being considered at all, which is a smaller claim and a much more reliable one.
Most of them work on content you paste, so you can check a page before it is published rather than after — which is the point at which a mistake is cheap.
