About Internal Link Checker
Internal links decay quietly. A page is renamed, a section retired, a trailing slash policy changes, and the links pointing at them keep looking fine in the markup while sending readers and crawlers nowhere. Free, with no membership. The crawl of what you paste happens locally, so an unreleased site map stays unreleased.
How to use it

Why internal links carry weight
A crawler discovers pages by following links, and it infers importance partly from how a site links to itself. A page reachable only from a sitemap is technically discoverable and practically neglected. This is why an orphan page and a page with one incoming link behave quite differently even though both are "linked".
What it does not do
- This examines the links a page declares. Confirming each destination responds is a separate crawl, and a link can point at a valid URL that redirects three times before arriving.
- Links created by JavaScript after load are not in the markup and cannot be enumerated from it — which is itself the finding, since a crawler may not see them either.
Questions people ask
- How many internal links should a page have?
- There is no correct number, and anyone quoting one is guessing. What matters is that every page you care about has at least a few links pointing at it from relevant places, and that the anchors describe the destination.
- Does the same link twice on a page count twice?
- Not meaningfully. Repeating a link does not strengthen it, and a navigation block repeating sitewide carries less weight than a link written into the body of a relevant page.
