About Business Days Calculator
Counting working days between two dates, or adding working days to one, so that a deadline lands on a day people are actually at work. Counting calendar days and then explaining why a delivery slipped is the alternative. Free, and it opens straight away with no account. The arithmetic happens in this tab, not on a server.

Why working days and calendar days diverge so fast
A week has five working days out of seven, so a calendar month of roughly thirty days contains around twenty-two. Over a quarter the gap is close to a month. A deadline quoted in working days and diarised in calendar days is therefore wrong by a widening margin, which is why contracts specify which they mean.
What it does not do
- Public holidays are not included, because there is no universal set of them. A national calendar is the thing to check against.
- A Monday-to-Friday week is assumed, which does not hold everywhere — several countries treat Friday or Sunday as part of the weekend.
- Half-days, shutdowns and local observances are invisible to it.
Questions people ask
- Does this include public holidays?
- No. They vary by country, by region and by year, and assuming one country calendar would produce quietly wrong answers everywhere else. Subtract the holidays that apply to you.
- Is the start date counted?
- When counting between two dates the convention is to count the days elapsed rather than both endpoints. Check the result against a short known example if the boundary matters for a contract.
