About Notes Formatter
Notes pasted out of a slide deck or a PDF arrive broken: lines snapped mid-sentence, bullet characters that are not bullets, double spaces where a column ended. Cleaning that by hand is tedious and this does it in one pass. Free online, no registration, no upload. Your notes are reshaped in the browser and stay on your machine.

Why copied PDF text breaks this way
A PDF stores where each piece of text sits on the page, not that a sentence continues onto the next line. Copying reconstructs reading order by guessing from those positions, so every visual line becomes a hard break, hyphenated words split, and anything in columns interleaves. The text was never stored as paragraphs to begin with.
What it does not do
- Content where line breaks are meaningful — poetry, code, addresses — should not be reflowed, and the tool cannot tell which is which.
- Text from multi-column layouts may already be interleaved by the time it reaches the clipboard, and no amount of reformatting recovers the intended order.

- Why does text copied from a PDF break mid-sentence?
- Because the PDF never contained sentences — it contained positioned glyphs. Reading order is reconstructed by guessing from the layout, so each visual line becomes a hard line break.
- Will it ruin my formatted lists?
- Recognisable bullet and numbered structures are preserved. Compare the result against the source before discarding the original, particularly for anything with deliberate line breaks.
