Instructions

How to extract pages

Three steps, no account, and nothing to install.

  1. Load the source PDF

Drop the file onto the page. It is read on your device, so a confidential document does not have to be uploaded in order to take two pages out of it.

  2. Name the pages you want

Type page numbers and ranges — 3, 8-11, 20 — or click the thumbnails. Order matters: listing 5, 2 produces a document with page 5 first.

  3. Extract and save

Create the new PDF and download it. It contains only the pages you chose, and the original is unchanged.

Overview

About extract pages

Extraction is what you want when only part of a document should travel: two pages of a forty-page lease for a reference check, the invoice out of a bundled statement, the one chart from a report. It builds a new PDF from the pages you name and leaves the source file exactly as it was.

Capabilities

What it does

  • One file outNon-contiguous pages come out as a single document rather than a folder of fragments.
  • Order is yoursPages appear in the order you list them, so extracting and rearranging happen in one pass.
  • Source untouchedThe original document is never modified, and never leaves your device to be read.
  • Only what you choseThe other pages are absent from the output file entirely, not hidden inside it.

Your files stay with you

Extract pages runs entirely inside this browser tab. The file you choose is read into your device's memory, processed there, and handed straight back to you — the bytes never cross the network, so there is no upload to intercept, no copy to retain and no retention policy to interpret.

You do not have to take that on trust. Open your browser developer tools, select the Network tab, and use the tool above: no request carries your document.

Answers

Extract pages: common questions

How is this different from splitting?
Splitting divides one document into several. Extracting takes a chosen set of pages and produces one new document from them. If you want a single file containing pages 3, 8 and 20, extraction is the direct route.
Can I extract pages into a specific order?
Yes. The pages appear in the order you list them, so extraction doubles as a way to pull out and rearrange in one step.
Does the extracted file carry the original metadata?
Document metadata such as title and author is carried over. If you are extracting in order to share a section externally, check that metadata before sending — it is a common accidental disclosure.
Is the rest of the document really absent from the new file?
Yes. Only the pages you selected are written into the output. Nothing from the other pages remains inside it.
Can I extract from a password-protected PDF?
Not while it is encrypted. Remove the password first, then extract. A file you cannot open is a file no tool can read pages out of.
Can I extract the same page more than once?
Yes. List it twice and it appears twice, which is occasionally what a submission format requires — a signature page repeated at the end of each section, for example.
How do I find the page numbers I need in a long document?
Work from the thumbnails rather than from the printed numbers on the pages. A document that was merged or reordered often has printed numbers that no longer match its actual page positions, and the position is what extraction uses.
